On This Day…

On the 30th of May in 1431 Joan of Arc, condemned as a heretic, was burned at the stake in Rouen, France.
On the 30th of May in 1539 Spanish explorer Hernando de Soto landed in Florida.
On the 30th of May in 1859 Westminster’s Big Ben rang for the first time in London.
On the 30th of May in 1876 Ottoman sultan Abd-ul-Aziz is deposed and succeeded by his nephew Murat V.
On the 30th of May in 2009 not a single one of these locations was featured as a Saturday Scene!

Consider this a yellow flag to all those people in Rouen, Spain, Florida, London and Turkey. We need your photographs to tie in with our “on this day” selections!
